There are quite a few clerics that are serviceable.

Neither are needed on super low cooldowns, and you don't even need full clears. You barely even need unmatchable clear for MD2 with Nautilus either here's an MD2 clear with no clerics. You don't need awoken bind clear for MD2. You could also split the cleric functionality out and try someone like Verdandi (who brings a very useful shield and board change), skip a heal stick entirely and just boost teamwide recovery ( here's a funny MD2 clear), pair with XMas Menoa, and/or use HChakeol or Paladin equip to effectively boost recovery.Īs for the cleric role, you don't really need unmatchable clear for MD3. In general, for a heal stick, you could absolutely make a poverty option like Ceres work, and while you lose some personal damage you still get some team damage awakenings, the option to carry either more SB or blind resist, the ability to carry an equip to help transform, and other potentially nice utility like more HP, bind recovery latent, and L shield. I've never done Ciel in solo so I won't talk about it too much, but it's definitely easier than MD2/3, is worth stoning for if you guarantee the drop, and JP also got recently got an exchange for her gem. For example, Daytona for MD3 or 7圆 teams for MD2.īut even if we're talking about strictly using Nautilus, and doing so in the regular versions of those dungeons (which still allow coop, but I get that that's not for everyone), you could still get those gems without Alynna. Or maybe it's just because dungeons don't require the exact same things, and some teams are great overall but have issues with specific dungeons. Maybe you used a cheese team to clear and you don't want to regularly use that, or maybe you barely managed to clear MD2 with some other team, and having GMyr would allow you to build a more consistent MD2 team with Nautilus. That doesn't mean you wouldn't still want Nautilus for other dungeons. In particular, those dungeons are available now with continues and coop allowed. Of course, there's always the option to use a leader other than Nautilus. It's absolutely possible to get those gems without Alynna. Being able to oneshot or twoshot spawns certainly makes runs more consistent and allows you to avoid certain mechanics, but people really overestimate how much damage is actually needed to clear, and Alynna's damage certainly doesn't make or break Nautilus teams. And even if you do end up sacrificing some damage or some other utility, that doesn't make the dungeons impossible to clear, and you might even be able to gain some other utility that Alynna lacks. Heart OEs and not having zero damage are very nice, but there are numerous ways to adjust your team without Alynna, and the cards I listed are just some of the better options, not an exhaustive list. The most amazing thing about Alynna is her active.
The game is no longer about solving the puzzle in front of you, rather it’s about solving the puzzle of “do I have the perfect subs to deal with these hazards”. Now, you might see 3 hazards and a rcv debuff on top. Before resists came out you had learn to solve around them and the other hazards but usually you only dealt with 2 at a time. I remember when things like cloud and tape first came out.
I’ve been playing this game for 7 years now. The problem is there’s no options for teambuilding, you either have the answer for a floor or you die. Most of the challenge, at least in my experience, is trying to fit 14 different actives/resists into 4 subs 2 leads and 6 assists. There is a definite creep to content, but I think the way they’ve done it is the issue. At this point, I don’t know how they can make the puzzling aspect of the game any harder without making it literally unplayable. I think a big problem is that GungHo have designed themselves into a corner with endgame content.
